Wash your hands!!

This is a major bug bare of mine.  Both passengers and cruise lines should take note.  Over the past few months when I call clients to see how their cruises went I am often greeted with coughing and spluttering on the phone.  The dreaded cruise ship cough.  This can be contracted through the air conditioning on the ship but it can be prevented.

Cruise lines should have hand sanitisers all around the ship, spraying people when entering eating establishments and in the toilets however i have heard many clients saying that the dispensers were not being filled up and there were no crew offering this hand sanitiser to guests.  This is terrible as bugs can spread rapidly and It can ruin your holiday by becoming ill.

Guests can be to blame too by not washing their hands thoroughly when on board.  You don’t have to just visit the lavatory just to go you know, you can just go in there to wash your hands.

When I was crew on Celebrity we had a huge outbreak on the ship so myself and my staff had to bleach EVERYWHERE passengers could touch, the shops dept smelt like a hospital, the glass cases were all misted over and the carpets and walls and hand rails were sodden with this bleach.  Its not the best job in the world spraying your department with that stuff.

So cruise lines, stop scrimping on the hand sanitizer and guys, please wash you hands more regular.  It will benefit everyone on your trip.  Rant over haha.
