Irish Sea was a little lumpy

Well we have just come back from our Christmas conference to Dublin on Cruise and Maritimes Marco Polo sailing from Bristol. It was an excellent mini cruise however the Irish Sea didn’t play fair and we had a force 8 gale on our way to Dublin and a force 9 on the way back! It did not affect me really with my experience with working on Celebrity and having an ‘iron stomach’ but it did affect a large portion of my colleagues and other passengers on the ship.

The motion was from bow to stern  which made a lot of people a wee bit queasy.  On the first night approximately 50 colleagues did not make it to dinner and on the way back it was more like 120.

We did have a good time though with having fancy dress on the first night. The theme was films in the last 100 years.  We had the cast of the Wizard of Oz, Grease, Ghostbusters, Mrs Brown and my outfit was from Cool Runnings.  Along with three ladies from the office, we squeezed into the costume and made an entrance to the bar singing ‘feel the rhythm, feel the ride….’

I will talk a little more about the cruise and Marco Polo later on but here are a few photos from the trip.
