Alleged Clown sparks a fight

You have possibly seen this on social media and it was on the evening news.  Allegedly someone who dressed as a clown on board P&O Britannia sparked a fight on board on the last night of a recent Norwegian Fjord cruise.

Now P&o’s policy is that no fancy dress or t shirts with slogans are allowed to be worn on board.  However reports are saying that there was not a person dessed as a clown on board and the fight happened at 2am in the buffet after a quite a drunken affair as there was a Brits themed party event round the pool. All day drinking in the sun has then obviously led to the fight breaking out in the early hours of the morning. My point is that ‘if’ there was fancy dress on board why did none of the staff on board politley ask the person or persons to get changed earlier on in th evening….Its not as if that person decided to change at 1am into fancy dress, normally you dress up for the night.  Something doesnt ring true in my opinion.

Even crew have fancy dress party’s on board…I am on the left

P&O have been trialing a new drinks package on board their ships.  I am not saying that this was a factor but alcohol fused guests along with an alleged clown (which some people have a phobia of) can make a cocktail of drunken behaviour.  Luckily it was in the wee small hours so there woudl not be many people about.  Hampshire police are talking to 6 people regarding the affray.

Cruises are meant to be fun and relaxing.  I have been on many cruises where there has been a stag or hen doo and the fancy dress is amusing, I have never seen anyone take offence.  I wonder if this is a ‘media circus’ pardon the pun.
