Ready For Your Next Adventure?

All cruise holidays are an adventure especially if you have not been to the destinations, but this I think is the ultimate of adventures – an expedition cruise!

The cruising market has changed so much even in the last few years and the world is a much easier place to get around however an expedition cruise I think, is still something straight out of your “bucket list” or something that is so very different and maybe this is the holiday you have been waiting for.

Why try one though? Well, if you want to visit really remote locations then this could be for you. Or if you want to see wildlife in their own habitat this has got to be right up your street. If you want to cruise but also when your on board listen and converse with experts in their own field such as bird life, geology, marine biology etc.  If you want to see the fantastic cultures say in the Arctic or Polynesia. Lastly, if you want to travel on smaller ships – this type of cruise could be for you.

An expedition cruise’s aim is I guess for you to get up close and personal to wildlife, and the scenery. The ships will have kayaks, paddle boards, snorkelling equipment and perhaps diving equipment too.  Every ship will have the expedition “leaders” on board with lectures and presentations on the area or the wildlife you are visiting.

Destinations you can expect to visit on a expedition cruise would be Antarctica, Arctic, Galapagos, Kimberley area of Australia, Amazon, Indonesia, and Alaska, with a few others thrown in and I expect there will be more.

So, if this is what you are looking for on your next holiday, who can you cruise with? This really is for us as your cruise and travel experts to find and pick the right one for you. However, here are just some of the cruise lines I think are particularly good and worth looking at (in no order). Hapag Lloyd, Scenic, Silversea, Hurtigruten and Celebrity’s new ship for the Galapagos, the Flora looks really good too.

If you are tempted, give me a call to discuss the possibilities, you never know your adventure maybe about to start!

Till next time x
