Passport Check – Visa Check!

You would be very surprised at how many people do forget passports. They get to check in at the airport or port and, well you can imagine how they must feel.  Where passports are concerned do not forget the general rule of thumb is the validity must be at least 6 months left and if you are a British Subject, this is very different to a British Citizen, therefore you really do need to check if you need a visa.

We at Cruise.co.uk are not visa experts and although we know a lot of information, things are forever changing on the visa front which is why we always refer you to a visa specialist, who are Cibt.  You are the main responsibility however in checking to see what you need so please use CIBT for any questions, or you could ask the embassy.

Recently New Zealand has announced that as from 1st October this year, you will need to apply for a ETA visa .  You will need a ETA even if you are transiting the country and on a cruise so please do not forget.  The ETA’s are very easy to obtain, all you have to do is go onto the New Zealand official website and apply from there.  Eta visa’s are also required for the USA, Canada and Australia and again very easy to apply for.  Please note if you are over 75 years of age in certain circumstances you may need to undergo a health check before being issued with one.

With Brexit looming (or not!) and the many changes in different parts of the world it is really important you do your homework regarding visa’s in particular. It is also worth mentioning about certain countries not letting you bring in any medication’s into their country. I always recommend you take a Dr’s letter with you and keep it in your hand luggage and again check if the country you are visiting has some “loop hole” with medication.

I hope this helps!

Till next time x
