Families Please Don’t Lose Out!

If you are looking to book your cruise and you are a family of 4 or more, please do not be tempted into thinking there will be plenty of availability. If you are all wanting to share a cabin, which of course makes sense, these do get booked very quickly. If you are a family of 5, then the odds are even more against you!

A family of 4 can usually get away with a cabin which is a double bed settee or the Pullman beds which are on the wall, however if you are a family of 5, well let me just say these are very difficult to find.  I thought it would be a good idea to give you a little bit of an insight to the best family accommodation on board.

I think some of the best has to be with Royal Caribbean, they really do service the families out there very well. So, if you have a bit of money to spare then look for the loft suites, Aqua theatre suites, family suite, family connected junior suites, and the inside and ocean views for families.   I think one of the most fantastic new suites has to be on the Symphony Of The Seas, which have the Ultimate Family Suite – oh yes looks great!  Do not forget though that not all Royal Caribbean ships have this accommodation!

I do like NCL and the rather lovely Haven suite accommodation. Check them out – not cheap again but certainly worth the money.  Ncl also offer family ocean view, balcony and mini suites which again are worth looking at.

Marella cruises also have a good variety and I think are often overlooked. The Discovery and Discovery 2 have a couple of family suites and family balcony cabins, while the others will accommodate a family if there is room.

Goes without saying that Disney cruises do have cabins to suit a family as well as Celebrity too.  MSC are up there too, from super family cabins to the executive and family suites – once again worth checking them out.

P&O cruises I have to say are also worth mentioning. I booked a lovely family this week and whilst the cabins were not connected they can open the divide on the balcony’s so at least you can go from one to another from there. They also have many cabins which would suit a family of 4 but again these do get booked .

It is a pain I agree, to get a cabin big enough for a family, remember the ones with Pullman beds and or sofa beds will not have much room.  That is where these family suites really do come into their own – however, a price has to be paid for these!

If you want any advice on choosing your cabin, you know where I am!

Till next time x
