Netflix and…Cruise

I watched a film the other day on Netflix called ‘Like Father’ has anyone seen this?

Now without me ruining the whole story line – a successful workaholic called Rachel is unfortunately jilted at the alter but at the wedding she sees the last person she expected to be there, her estranged Dad that she hadn’t seen for over 20 years. Your probably all thinking where am I going with this blog…bear with me!

In the film Rachel carries on with her honeymoon after a drunken night/decision and she invites her father….and they go on Harmony of the Seas for a Caribbean itinerary out of New York (there we go, I got to the cruise link!)

Once they are on the ship there is some really good coverage, shows the ship really well including the activities, dining and the cabins. One thing I really noticed watching this and what I wanted to talk about was your dining companions. My question is, if you have a set dining time and you select a larger table to sit with other people do you just have dinner with them and then maybe a few hi how are you’s around the ship in the day or do you spend nearly all of your time with them?

In the film there is 4 couples and they are on the same table for dinner but they spend ALL of their time together, breakfast, lunch, activities in the day, excursions etc. Personally this is a little much for me, I do enjoy getting to know people at dinner and that is a part of cruising that I think is quite unique and it is a chance to have different conversations at dinner but no offence I wouldn’t want to spend all my holiday with them, am I alone in this or do you agree?

The film is actually really good so I would definitely recommend you all to watch this, hopefully I haven’t ruined the story too much!
