CoPilot Millie!

Last week I turned 30 and two of my closest friends planned me a whole weekend of surprises! Anyone that knows me knows that I’m not too good at surprises, I am the one that plans things likes to organise things, lists the lot but this weekend I had to sit back and see what was going happen…I think I done pretty well with this to be honest!!!

We left on Friday morning, everything that I was advised to pack was in my suitcase and off we went to a still unknown location, 2 and a half hours later we arrived in Maidstone. The sun was shining and it looked like a really nice place, my first surprise and activity was at Prison Island – this is a crystal maze type escape room but in teams. There was 25 different rooms and you had to solve the challenge in each room to gain points and had an hour to get the most points you can, some were physical challenges and some were mentally challenging. It was really good fun, we managed most of the rooms and gained 470 points which they said was a really good score for first time visitors!!

That afternoon we made our way to the hotel they had booked the Hilton nearby which had a pool, sauna and steam room so we spent time time there before getting ready and going out in Maidstone for the evening for a meal and a few drinks – we went to local bar that had some live music and then ended up in a club dancing on the tables!! Good night all round! haha

The Saturday was a really lovely sunny day so nice and hot so we went to Food, Drink and Music festival in a park in Maidstone called Mote Park it was a really beautiful massive park with a lake in the middle and we enjoyed the day there eating and drinking listening to live music and topping up our tans!!

It was Sunday then before we knew it and then came my big surprise, I was going in a Helicopter!!! I was so excited, at the beginning of this year I had written a bucket list of things I would like to do and achieve in the rest of my life and my friends knew that this was on there. Originally it was just me going up however we had had a few complications with the booking and in the end they put on a whole new flight just for me and my friends and we could all enjoy it together, I was even more excited then, I was in the copilot seat and up we went! The pilot was really nice he was explaining things about the helicopter and what we could see…we went from Epping so we weren’t to far from London, the pilot asked for permission to go into London airspace and we were lucky enough to see the O2 and Olympic Football Stadium it was amazing we could even see the coastline of Southend on Sea.

What an experience and what a weekend one that will stay with me for a very long time!!….Next up is my party I am stringing this 30th out for as long as possible!!
