My Australia Trip Continued !

Carrying on from my last blog with my fantastic trip to Perth Australia.

With our flights being delayed from Manchester we were a tad behind schedule with tours that we booked had in Perth.

So early on the 2nd of March, we all met in reception at the Mounts Bay Water hotel , then we were taken to Pier 2 Barrack Street terminal to enjoy our ferry ride over to one of the most beautiful Islands just off shore from Perth Australia, we were off to Rottnest Island for a cycle tour for the day.

The ferry crossing is about 40 minutes from Perth to Rottnest, where you can obtain light refreshments on board and just take in some of the most fantastic views you could ever imagine.

When we arrived on Rottnest Island, we were all given our cycles and helmets for our bike ride around the Island, now you can imagine, I do spin lessons in my gym class but the last time I ever rode a bike was about 20 years ago, it was an experience I have to say, took me a while to grasp the gist but i got there eventually.

We were all so excited we set off ( slowly i may add ) for our 3.5 hours ride around this breath taking Island and just experience the real life of just sheer beauty. Wow some of the views were breathtaking along the way, all you could see for miles around you was beautiful beaches and quakka’s which are Rottnest home wildlife, they are a small wallaby. Beautiful little things but took me a while to get a selfie with one !

Our 1st stop was at Salmon bay, where the views were just breath taking, the waters were turquoise, so we just had to stop for an hour to take a dip and enjoy the beautiful sea, sand and gorgeous weather.

A bit about Rottnest Island:

It is Just 19 km off the coast of Perth City, but an entire world away, blessed with a casual atmosphere, picturesque scenery, dazzling marine life and some of the world’s finest beaches and pristine bays. Rottnest Island is a protected nature reserve, it’s home to the quokka, a small wallaby-like marsupial. The island is also home to colonies of Australian sea lions and southern fur seals. A number of native and introduced bird species nest near the shallow salt lakes.

There are loads of white sandy beaches and secluded coves, with its shallow waters. Strickland Bay is known for its surfers with big breaks in the sea which is ideal for surfers.

Make sure you are keeping an eye out for my next update in my adventure in Perth, Australia, I have so much more to share with you all !
