Our Trip On Fred Olsen’s To The Fjords, Continued !!

Well after a shattering 1st day on board myself and Lisa decided to have an early night, for a nice fresh start in the morning. The 2nd day we were sailing and we also had Captains night so had to make sure we both looked nice and refreshed.

We both got up nice and early then flew off for breakfast, the choice was fantastic so much food to choose from. The staff on board were just fantastic, service was first class.

With us both being smokers well we just had to find the smokers area which was up on deck 8 towards the aft of the ship. Now I have to be honest this was one of the most busiest of places on board but it was a nice open space with plenty of seating.

It was amazing how many guests we got to know. 1st we met up with a fantastic couple called Barry and Tina, which were hilarious then we met Sharon, Lizzy and Jill which were all single travellers. We all got on so well it was amazing.

Our bar waiter staff was Winston but Lisa renamed him as “Manuel”, such a beautiful man, we also had Jasmine, she was just fab, the pair were so much fun, always smiling and their service was impeccable.

Well  after getting to know just about everyone on board we went back to our cabin to get changed for a very important night, yes you got it right “Captains Night”.

The next day we were in Bergan. I have been here before and I love this place. When we arrived the sun was shining for once and it was one the most glorious of days ever.

Myself and Lisa got off the ship early morning and had a bit of a mooch around. Bergan is such a beautiful little place with some fabulous history, so many little quaint colourful house’s and some very spectacular view’s.

It was the capital of Norway but now known as the second largest City in Norway. Also recognized and marketed as the gateway city to the world famous fjords of Norway and for that reason it has become Norway’s largest – and one of Europe’s largest cruise ship ports of call.

Bergan has some fantastic little shops that sell some beautiful hand made Items such as clothing and bobble hats.

I found the most beautiful hand made dusky pink bobble hat in a quaint little shop, but me being me as I can be quite indecisive sometimes, I left it and got back on the ship. As myself and Lisa was sunbathing I was blubbering about it and with only 3/4hrs before the ship sailed I decided to get off with Tina to go on a mission to the shop, as we arrived we both could not believe it, the shop had closed and I had no bobble hat !

This was a standing joke by the way when i got back on board !!

Next time I see something I like just buy it ! Lesson learnt !

But if someone is off the Bergen let me know and I can tell you exactly which shop it is !
