Family Time At Home

I’m just back from a week’s annual leave and I’ve had such a lovely break. It has been such a busy year this year I can honestly say I was really ready for the break. We decided to stay at home for this holiday and I’m really pleased we did! Normally the summer school holidays drive me crazy. Trying to keep a lively boy entertained for six whole weeks can be a nightmare, especially if the weather is bad. However, we have been really fortunate this year and have had some amazing weather so we took full advantage and headed off to the beach and park, took a football and really enjoyed some quality family time.

We have some fantastic facilities available on the Seafront in South Shields, it really is a beautiful place to live. I think sometimes I just don’t make the most of it. We have a gorgeous beach with a lovely promenade which is lovely to walk along, grabbing an ice cream or a bag of chips along the way.

We also spent a lot of our time at the Marine Park. It’s a great park with lots of space. We really enjoyed playing football and generally enjoying being out in the fresh air.

We also spent a few days at the fair where my son Logan enjoyed the rides. His favorite at the moment is the roller coaster followed closely by the go-carts.

Mini Golf is also a big favourite in our family so this was another activity that we did several times last week. It did get competitive as I really don’t like to lose!
