It’s a Sad Day for one of Britain’s Oldest Travel Firms.

It has been reported that 150,000 Brits are to be repatriated after the collapse of one of Britain’s Oldest travel firms – Thomas Cook who had been operating for 178 years and were pioneers in the travel industry.

The official statement came through in the early hours of this morning with reports saying ‘passengers stranded’.  If you booked a Thomas Cook package holiday then you are protected under the ATOL licence so if you are on holiday then you will return home under this scheme so don’t panic!

We hope this helps if you have been affected by this devastating news.

I do feel for the all the staff as I was in a similar position a few years ago with the collapse of the company I worked for so can understand how they must be feeling and empathise with them.

If you have Thomas Cook flights booked with say P&O, alternative flight arrangements will be sourced – see the statement below from P&O:

Update for P&O guests booked with Thomas Cook

We will be contacting all guests who have current or future P&O Cruises holidays booked through Thomas Cook. All P&O Cruises holidays booked through Thomas Cook will be going ahead as planned. Those travelling on Thomas Cook aircraft on our fly/Caribbean or fly/Mediterranean cruise holidays will also be updated as soon as we have confirmed alternative aircraft.

If you have booked through another cruise line then again you will find similar messages on their respective websites.

If you, or someone you know, has been personally affected by this then we recommend visiting the Thomas Cook CAA webpage. This site contains all of the information and advice that you will need to get through these tough times.
