Florida

As you read this I will be in Florida ‘The Sunshine State’ (well hopefully it will be sunny!). I have never been to Florida before, so I am really looking forward to it.

We are flying on the 787 Dream-liner which I have been on a number of times before. The Dream-liner is fantastic as standard there is more leg room which can make a difference especially in economy. There is also mood lighting that helps you adjust to time differences and jet lag. For me flying long haul means much more in-flight entertainment and things to do to help pass the time. The last flight we did was to Cape Verde which is only around three hours less than Florida and there was no entertainment on-board which made the time go so slowly!

We have decided not to hire a car, as I felt unsure about driving abroad so we have arranged a coach transfer to our hotel. We are staying at the Universal Cabana Beach Bay which offers shuttles to the parks or some are even walking distance. This was another reason we felt we didn’t really need a car.

We plan to spend most of our time at Universal as that appeals more to my boyfriend and I. I am especially looking forward to Universal City Walk in the evenings as I have been told the atmosphere is amazing and one not to be missed.

We are there for 11 nights in total, so I am also hoping we have some time to relax by the pool and also do some shopping to try and pick up some bargains.

Once I return I will of course go into more detail about the hotel I stayed at and any tips/ideas I come across whilst away.
