Messing Around On The Danube

I’ve told you about the first few days on my Danube adventure here’s what I got up to next.  I had signed up for  canoeing down the Danube not sure if it was a good idea at the time however it was probably one of the highlights of my trip. We were taken by coach further along the river and then canoed towards the ship.

Luckily the canoes were tied together so they couldn’t capsize the weather was kind  the rain stopped just as we set off there were seats for 4 people to canoe and we kept swapping so people could have a rest. The river was quite fast flowing and we soon got into the swing of how to steer the canoe. The scenery from the river was stunning… we had a break so far down then set off again when our ship came sailing past she looked lovley in the water and tooted her horn as she past. This trip was amazing and I would definitely recommend anyone to give this a go.

We visited Materhausen concentration camp and if you have never visited a camp before all I can say is it puts a lot of things into perspective. It was such an emotional experience.

The next highlight was on the day before we disembarked we got the chance to do another hike. We were taken by coach to a small village where the hike began  and we split into groups depending on fitness. The view from the top was worth the climb it was beautiful and I’m pleased I signed up even though I probably ached for days after.

I didn’t know what to expect from a river cruise and ended up doing things I never imagined I would do and seeing so many beautiful places. It is something I will do again and would recommend you try.

I’m off now on my next adventure Celebrity Constellation  here We come. I will tell you all about it next time

thanks  for reading
