Dinner in Qsine

Last week I sailed on the Celebrity Eclipse for 5 days and was a little apprehensive before I boarded after my mini cruise experience with them earlier this year. I am pleased to say having sailed now with them on this trip that my faith has been restored, normal hgh standard of service as you would expect with Celebrity was resumed and am no longer doubting that booking my honeymoon to Alaska with them was a mistake.

Whilst on board the Eclipse we were invited by our hosts to join them for dinner in Qsine which is one of the specialty restaurants on board and has a cover charge of $45 pp. I was particulary pleased we got to try this as at first glance I didn’t think this would be somewhere I could bring Nick – the fussiest person ever with food and so then would never get to try this dining venue out.

Once seated each diner is given an i-pad which is where you order your food and cocktails. As you scroll through the i-pad you will see there is 20 different food choices such as filet mignon, sushi lollipops, fish and bites, pancake rolls etc. There was 8 of us on the table so we nominated one person to do our ordering – now normally you would order approx 4-6 dishes for the table,  however somehow as we all had different choices we had 13 listed on the i-pad to have !

Food was all cooked to order and here is our first round of food ! We did make the mistake of ordering enough for everyone when maybe we should have just ordered 4 of each thing and then could have shared. I highly recommend the pork spring rolls, sliders and also the fillet mignon. I am not a seafood fan but did try a couple of Sushi lollipops and the disco shrimp. Each food item came with their own sauces and this was all explained to us by our server.

Here was the next round which was called M’s Selection and was a selection of koftas, olives, hummus, lamb chops,

We also had a selection of Indian Curries which came out.

Just as we all sat there feeling incredibly full, out came the dessert menus which were on a block you had to play around with to see all the options. Again as we couldn’t make up our minds we somehow ordered 2 of each dessert

We had dinner reservations at 6pm and we left in a hurry at 8.55pm to catch the 2nd show – so this is a venue where you are not hurried out to accommodate the next table of diners.

This was definietly a highlight of my trip and one of my favourite specialty restaurants, and there is something for everyone (even my Nick). I would say this restaurant is better if you are in a group rather than as a couple. The ships which currently feature this restaurant is Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Reflection, Celebrity Silhouette, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Summit

Have you eaten in Qsine before and what where your favourite dishes?

I will be out of the office for the next 2 weeks as I am off to London for a couple of nights for a belated 40th present for the other half which will see us visit the Shard and also see Wicked the Musical, and then I am off to Hong Kong for 6 days with work to experience and try out some tours for our exciting pre/post cruise packages we offer.

Have a great couple of weeks and you can follow my adventures on my facebook page: hhttps://www.facebook.com/kerryjamescruise/?fref=ts
