Bookable Now….Tui (Thomson) River Cruises

Tui who are better known to most people as the much loved holiday brand Thomson have launched their first River Cruise product, with not one ship but 3.

To be honest, I’m surprised that they have taken this long, the holiday’s arm of Tui has been around for more years than myself (which is quite  few) and they have  been selling ocean cruises for nearly 25 years. The river cruise market has expanded rapidly in last 5 years and I would have expected them to get in on this sooner, however better late than never and they have a lot to offer the UK market.

From Summer 2020 they will be offering a choice of itineraries and covering most of the European Waterways. You can pick from the Dutch & Belgian Waterways, the Rhine, Main, Moselle and the much loved Danube. Unlike many river cruise lines they will be offering direct flights from the UK which will be a key selling point. The flight options vary dependent upon the itinerary but they include flights from Scotland, Manchester and Birmingham as well as Heathrow, Luton and Gatwick.

The cruises have a great staff to customer ratio and the ships take just 155 passengers each. They will have a sophisticated feel on board and offer a range of cabin types including standard cabins, french balconies and single cabins too. Tui are giving all guests 1GB of free wi-fi and £120 each excursion credit. With a range of excursions on each itinerary this will give you a choice of excursions in each port, so you can tailor the cruise to your individual preference.

Flexibility is also given with other optional extras, as standard you will receive tea and coffee with breakfast and house wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner. You can though also purchase a drinks package to include draught beers, branded spirits, cocktails and premium coffee, this is pre-bookable at just £100/ person. In line with their Marella ocean cruise product, Tui River Cruises will be giving you the option to select a specific cabin number for £48/cabin.

I’m really excited about this product. Tui offer great value and quality holidays and ocean cruises and I’m sure their river cruises will do exactly the same.
