Viking Recreations

So I’ve joined the Viking Kvasir in Basel – Some pronounce it BARRL some pronounce it BAZIL, the ship was lovely I do know that for sure. First stop the dining room for lunch, where you choose from a wonderful array of healthy salads and fruits along with hot and cold from the buffet or order the full works from the menu.  Of course, you get the free wine or beer whichever you choose and its free-flowing,  your waiter keeps you topped up throughout your meal.

So as well as the perfectly arranged tours included, what is there on board the ship itself?  Well up on the sundeck if you would like to try your hand at a little mini golf this will be right up your street & next to the golf is a lovely herb garden,  it was pleasant on the eye and the smells of the mint and coriander were so refreshing.

Wi-Fi is complimentary and there is a nice quiet area with good seating where you can log onto the ship’s computers if you don’t have your own, also in the same area is the Library which was nicely stocked with a good mixture of books and not only in English Language so that was good to see they also have a nice selection of games at hand.

Daily newspapers from all around the World were at hand for guests to read – although I didn’t see many people actually wanting to know what was going on back home.

There was no Gym on board or Hair Dresser,  with experience I don’t think the gym was missed, but people do like to have a beauty salon on board I have found especially for the Captains night, there are no  formal nights like on Ocean cruising but if you are away on longer journeys it is very much needed and wanted by the ladies & Gents..

So what do you think so far? – Next instalment coming soon folks…
