Why We Choose MSC Seaview For Our First Family Cruise

When it comes to cruising with kids your first priority is to make sure they are entertained! this is one of the reasons we have chosen to cruise on the MSC Seaview next July. This will be our first-ever family cruise! we have always been to resort hotels so this will be like a big floating resort but waking up in a different country every day.

We are cruising from Palma with Glasgow flights included which was a bonus, its normally quite hard to match up the cruise/flight days from Glasgow which results in pre/post hotel stays which we didn’t want to do. MSC also have a FREE upgrade offer from inside to balcony so this was another perk for us.

I had a day visit on-board the MSC Meraviglia last year and was blown away by how stunning and modern the ship was, I was particularly impressed with the kids facilities which include a full-sized bowling alleys, interactive, multi-storey water park and adventure trail, colourful kids’ play areas created in partnership with LEGO® and Chicco®, F1 simulator, interactive XD Cinema and sports court. The only downside is you have to pay for these facilities which we will probably do to keep my son entertained.

We are visiting Pama, Barcelona, Ajaccio, Genoa, La Spezia, Civitavecchia and Cannes, we are particularly excited to visit Rome. we haven’t really looked at any shore excursions yet as it’s so far away but will probably focus on the extras after Christmas.

MSC sometimes get mixed reviews as they cater a lot for Europeans/Italians but we’re used to this since we have visited Turkey many times and this is normally the same, we always manage to find something we like. I have only ever been on mini-cruises or day visits so haven’t really had the full cruise experience so I have nothing to compare it to. My Mum & Dad are also coming with us, the cruise or the first time in April on the P&O Ventura and they are due to cruise on the Marella Explorer next month so I’m sure they will be comparing, its only natural to do so.

Have you cruises on-board the Seaview? If so let me know your thoughts?

  1. Was on the sea view last month sailing from Barcelona. 1st time on MSC and was very surprised by the way the cruise went. Having done more than 30 cruises I could not fault this one. Lovely ship and for kids there looked like plenty areas for them to enjoy.
