The Brilliance Was Brilliant

So I went on my first and only ship visit of the year, Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance Of The Seas. Last year I had 4 ship visits so as this was my only one for 2019 I had my fingers crossed that it would be a good one.

The Brilliance is one of Royals smaller ships, with a capacity of around 2500 guests. The ship is actually 17 years old but had a refurbishment in 2018. When I boarded the Centrum was stunning, I was so open, the Glass around the corridors above and glass elevators were stunning, definitely the nicest part of the ship for me.

We headed straight to Minstrels main dining room for our lovely 3-course lunch, I was very hungry as didn’t eat breakfast that morning(saving space) The food was delicious and the dining room was bright and inviting. For Starters, I choose the potato and leek soup, but when it came if was definitely a chowder as it was fishy. For my main I choose the braised beef short rib in bourbon reduction, with roasted butternut squash and sauteed spinach, the beef was nice and tender. For desert, I had the New York cheesecake, Salter pretzel crumb, lemon curd and smashed fresh raspberries.

After lunch, we got to take a tour of the ship(walked off all the food).

Pacifica Theatre

Set over decks 4, 5 and 6, the 874-seat Pacifica Theatre is the main theatre for the ship. This is where Royal Caribbeans main productions ranging from singers, actors and dancers performing in shows and even some ballroom dancing.

Casino Royale

This was huge! 12 tables and 195 slot machines. You can get some free lessons in the day time. I must admit the thing that put me off the Casino was the smell, I can’t even explain it but it wasn’t pleasant. It could have been due to the fact there was no air conditioning switched on as it was empty so I will reserve too much judgement on this.

I won’t go on about every single location I visited on the ship as we may be here all day! So here are some photos that I took and if you want information about these areas on the ship then feel free to contact me. Overall it was a great visit, I did feel that most of the ship was very dark feeling, dark brown woods everywhere! but then its 17 years old and still looking impressive.
