Storm Dorian Causing A Not So Perfect Day At Coco Cay!

Tropical Storm Dorian is currently approaching Puerto Rico, along roughly the same path that  Category 4 Hurricane Maria took to devastate the island two years ago !! Storm Dorian is a Category 2 but still strong enough to cause disruption to Puerto Ricos Fragile power system! the centre of Dorian is forecast to track over or near the U.S. and the British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico later today before the storm then moves east of Turks and Caicos and the southeastern Bahamas on Thursday.  President Donald Trump has approved an emergency declaration. The move authorises US federal agencies to provide assistance and coordinate disaster relief. The storm could make landfall in the US state of Florida late on Friday night or early Saturday morning.

This has caused Several cruise lines to change itineraries last-minute including Royal Caribbean who has been forced to close Perfect Day at CocoCay until September 4. Royal Caribbean has not yet confirmed where ships will call instead of Perfect Day at CocoCay, though it is likely they will overnight in Nassau, Bahamas. New attractions and experiences at Perfect Day at CocoCay have been opening in phases, with the full completion planned for December 2019, hopefully, storm Dorian doesn’t cause too much disruption and damage! I’m sure many people will be disappointed at not being able to visit this private island but safety first of course.

Here is a list of the ships affected- most ships have been rerouted to Western Caribbean Islands.

Royal Caribbean – Allure Of The Seas, Symphony Of The Seas, Harmony Of The Seas, Navigator Of The Seas & Mariner Of The Seas

Disney Cruise Line – Disney Fantasy

Carnival Cruise Line – Carnival Breeze & Carnival Sunrise

If you are due to travel you should have been notified by the cruise line or your booking agent.

Hopefully, this is the worst for the year!
