30th Celebrations in Beautiful Dubrovnik

So if you read my last blog you will have seen that my husband and I have both recently turned 30, so to celebrate we booked a little 3night stay to Dubrovnik. It was such a seamless journey, no need to check-in bags and flights/transfers all on time. We stay in a little apartment building called Vito in the Lapad/Babin kuk area of Dubrovnik. We stayed right in the middle of Lapad and had the option to walk 10 mins in either direction either to the Marina or Lapad Beach. I honestly couldn’t fault the little resort, the people are so friendly, plenty of restaurants and bar to spend your evening after a busy day exploring the old town and city walls. We arrived on Saturday morning and spent our day walking around Lapad, checking out the area and stopping for cocktails in different bars along the way. I must admit the cocktails aren’t cheap, probably around £8-10 so city centre prices, my husband stuck to beer which was more reasonably priced. On Saturday evening we went to a little Mexican restaurant called Chihuahua, the food was delicious.

On Sunday we decided to have a chill-out day at the beach, we walked 15 mins down to a beach club called coral beach club where we hired a double sunbed which costs around £35 for the day and includes towels. The menu was really fancy, so I just ordered some fries which were actually like little roast potatoes but they were tasty. We spent the day listening to music and drinking prosecco and beer, it was so relaxing. That evening we went to a little restaurant down at the marina called peppers, this restaurant was reasonably priced, we both had the fillet steak and a peanut chocolate brownie with ice cream, it was very nice, would highly recommend this little restaurant.

On Monday it was time to explore, we got the number 6 bus from Lapad to Pile gate(old town). We spent some time wandering around and then bought tickets to walk around the city walls, this cost around £25pp. It took around 2 hours to walk around but It was well worth it, the weather was sunny and around 25 degrees so not too hot! I couldn’t imagine doing it in July or August, it would be far too hot. The views all around the walls are stunning, please do this if you get to visit Dubrovnik on your cruise. After the city walls, we headed back to Lapas and sat for a few hours at the Lapas Beach bar with some drinks. That evening we went to a Thai Resturant called Trinity Oriental Fusion, the service and food were amazing and again reasonably priced, this little restaurant is a must!!

Overall we had a fantastic time and would 100% go back, I could tell you more but you really should go and experience it for yourself. Here are some of our many photos.
