Never Underestimate a Shore Excursion

As many of us know as avid cruise fans a huge part of the trip is the destination. Working at cruise.co.uk I never get complacent in discussing all of the incredible features on new designed and refurbished ships that a big part of travel is actually about the destinations and port stops.

We recently had some incredible value Transpacific cruises from Singapore to Australia for just £1,699 covering City breaks in both Singapore and Sydney. As you can imagine at this price and 16 nights of cruising the marketing and product team did a lot of the work behind the scenes and from my point of you this type of trip is what I would call an “Easy Sell” Australia and Asia are on a lot of our Bucket lists and coupled with a 5 star cruise its understandable these types of trips sell out in weeks.

What always amazes me is the excursions you can do on a trip like this.

We have Great Barrier Reef tours that’s 7 hour tours of the Natural wonders of the World, the very next day you can do a hike to the undiscovered Whitsundays from Arlie Beach Australia.

How many people actually research shore excursions before they book a cruise? It’s really easy to brief over the itineraries and not take in the life changing memories you are going to take in whilst you are there.

This is the reason my advise is always to take a little time out before a long cruise to have time to recover from any jet lag and relax as some 14-18 night cruises can be action packed with activities.

We use companies such as Cruising excursions com, Trip Advisor own a great sight called Via tour which offers fab reviews of excursions. I must be honest though my firm fave is always an excursion direct with the cruise line as they are accountable for your enjoyment of the tour.

What’s  the best shore excursion you have ever done and what lasting memories did it leave you with?
