Irate Iran causing problems for your cruises in Dubai

This week has all of us glued to the news for latest developments in the Dubai and The Emirates to see if the issues and conflict in the region is going to subside or are these recent escalated disruptions set to continue.

This week saw a very brave decision from P&O followed by Celebrity in canceling all of their winter 2019 season from Dubai, If you were one of the many thousands of customers effected I know first hand from speaking to a few of you this week how difficult it can be to change your cruise plans and find suitable alternatives.

MSC have decided to keep their eye on the conflict and feel strongly they can keep their ships in the region.

That’s not the end of disruptions to holidays for this week either….

In Hong Kong there is of course raised tensions and real violence on the streets this is one of our busiest ever departures for our famous Grand tour of China tour. We actually have hundreds of customers in the region relying on flights to and from Hong Kong at a time when airline disruptions are rife with Hong Kong canceling some flights recently.

China has severe weather warnings with a typhoon about to hit the Yangtze River where we have customers about to embark on a River cruise.

I must be honest in recent years we have seen a lot of problems with severe weather in August and September. you will no doubt remember the devastating hurricanes in The Caribbean a year or two ago.

Its always so difficult hearing about customers nervous about their plans for the forthcoming trips.

The only consolation is that we are such a responsible member of Atol our customers can rest assured that if something goes wrong we have an experienced team on hand to look after all of our guests abroad.
