I’m Back!

Hi everyone,

So I’m back from my lovely family holiday to Halkidiki and ready to book some more amazing cruises for my customers.

The week away flew by but we all had a great time.  It was as relaxing as it can be with 2 little imps dragging us from the kids club to the pool, then for food and then back to the pool or kids club! I don’t know where they get their energy from, especially with the early starts and late nights!

Would we go back to Halkidiki? Definitely not with the children as the 2 hour transfer was just too long after the flight. With their excitement they just wanted to get off the plane and straight to the hotel. The scenery along the way was beautiful as we traveled through the mountains and then down the coast to our resort. The hotel itself was set on a hillside right next to it’s own private beach. Walking around the hotel for the first 10 minutes it certainly became apparent that we would be leaving a lot fitter than when we arrived, even after the All Inclusive food and drinks! We’d be lagging behind as the girls went running up the flights of stairs to get to the pool and restaurant.

Days were spent by the pool and not so much in it due to how cold it was. It was definitely the coldest pool I’ve ever been in! We knew it was time to get out when our lips started turning blue! The kids loved the Children’s club although I’m sure it wouldn’t pass any of the health and safety tests over here, so we watched them play to ensure they didn’t have any accidents. At least we could sit down and relax!

We did venture into the local town of Ouranolpoli a few times which was a nice escape and gave us all a taste of the real Greece.  There are some lovely restaurants right on the seafront with views of the surrounding islands. It was very apparent how much influence the monastries of Mount Athos have on this area, as all shops sold religious artifacts linked to the monks who inhabit there.

Greece is certainly somewhere we would visit again but definitely a shorter transfer next time. Maybe we will take a cruise next time and see lots of different islands on one trip!

Hope you enjoyed reading about my trip and I hope to speak to some of you very soon to help plan your next cruise.

James
