Indy Part 2

Hello from a chilly Morecambe, the temperatures certainly have dropped this week but a welcome break from all the rain we’ve had. Makes we wish and rewind time back to our trip on Independence which now seems a lifetime ago. I did promise you a second installment as not to bore you all first time round. After the re-fit back in April/May 2018 Royal Caribbean introduced new public areas and enhancements to an already fantastic ship.  You now have the traditional “Fish n Ships”, a lovely outdoor eatery up on Lido with its own bar and a wide selection of the “chippy” favourites and a few twists to the menu such as deep fried squid!, there is nominal fee but worth the extra if you fancy a change to the restaurant or Windjammer. Sticking with the bar and eating options, there is also the “Sports Bar and grill” showing all the latest sporting events with pool tables and “retro” arcade games to keep you occupied. If you fancy a bite to eat there are Nachos, Chicken Wings, burgers and more from the menu, again nominal fees apply.

A hit with the younger generation and my children certainly spent most of their time there is “Splash Away Bay” another new addition. This is located behind the main pools and features slides, jets and a small pool for the kids, keeps them out of the main pool areas, as with all Royal Caribbean ships there is always a life guard on duty, peace of mind that the little ones are safe. If you or the kids fancy being a daredevil for a short period there are also the two new watersides, “Typhoon and Cyclone”  “Grab a buddy and plunge through three stories of twisting, turning thrills to the bottom of the dual racer slides”. I didn’t brave these but I did hear they were “great”.

Anyone considering Royal Caribbean or Independence of the Seas I can highly recommend both, If you would like any prices or availability let me know and I can obtain all the details for you.
