Better than ever!

Good Afternoon all,

And so after an amazing 17 days off, I’m back! I now know how the kids feel when they start back at school after the summer Break but back to it and rearing to go!. Some of you may be aware that we have all just returned from Independence of the Seas and what a ball we have all had!. From start to finish we have laughed, cried and more importantly had much needed family time away.

We arrived at Southampton early afternoon using Eavesway, as always they were fabulous and got us to the port earlier than expected, much to the delight of my youngest who managed an extra two hours in the pool!. Check-in I have always found to be speedy and effortless with Royal Caribbean and this time was no different, in fact I think they beat our previous record, from entering the terminal to stepping on board took us no more than 20 minutes, checking in online at home enables you to use expedited check-in, so much quicker as you have done all that is required prior.

We choose to travel in September due the costs in July and August not ideal but a great time to travel both financially and weather wise, we had a glorious 12 nights without a rain drop in sight, the temperatures slightly cooler than the height of Summer but enables you to enjoy the sights in comfortable temperatures.

Independence was as great as ever and I can see why she is the UK’s favourite, shame she wont be here for the 2020 season. Staff on board were fantastic, attentive, courteous and nothing too much trouble. The newly re-vamped outdoor areas and splash park are a winner for those with children, I think Finn spent the best part of the day in the pool areas and the two newly created water slides aft of the ship.

Food was excellent, the choice available both in the main restaurant and Windjammer are the best I have sampled and the good old English breakfast with all the trimmings certainly is a hit.

There is so much more to share with you all but I will keep this post short, I will of course share more of my experience with you next week.
