WOULD YOU TAKE A MYSTERY CRUISE????

You wake up one morning, the sun in shining and you feel you could take on the world and an adventure is what you are seeking. You turn on the radio and a company are advertising what seems like a Mystery Cruise. As a seasoned cruiser you think I can do that, yeah why not. You make that call and its booked. So as you spend the following weeks convincing your better half that it is a good idea the excitement in you is starting to build.

So, now, as your cruise departure date is approaching and you have no idea what to pack you are thinking , will the weather be hot or cold? will I need walking boots or flip flops?Sunhats or Winter Fleeces? you haven’t booked any shore excursions or bought any guidebooks because you have no idea whatsoever where you are going.

Still Excited??????????

Well  this can now become a reality for all of us as Fred Olsen has now announced a voyage on Black Watch from Tilbury, one of Fred Olsens new departure port for 2014. Only the captain and senior officers will know where this voyage is going to.

This idea of a Mystery Voyage completely defies the trends that were quoted by Fred Olsens senior managementat the companys press launch yesterday-that passengers choose a cruise by destinations, time in port and experiences along the way raher than brand or ship. This way round they are choosing by the ship alone , or are motivated by a strong sense of curiosity.

But done well these cruises could be alot of fun, with the guessing games reaching fever pitch, before the ships arrives at its first port of call. One of Saga’s recent mystery cruises, according to various reports, guess were treated to Irish coffees for the drink of the day   (cruise to Ireland?) and a Phillipines themed menu, although a little to far to travel in two weeks.

Even the electronic navigations screens around the ship were switched off , with the ship sailing in a circle of mist so that savvy sailors couldnt even try navigating via the sun ( the first port of call was Casablance , much to everyones surprise.

So where can Black Watch get to in two weeks? Norway Fjords, Canaries,Baltics, Cape Verde Islands???? It’s anyone’s guess but there is definately only one way to find out!!
