What’s Hot, What’s Not, What’s New Festive Edition

Welcome to a festive  3rd edition of What’s Hot, what’s Not , What’s New magazine, a magazine where you become the editor. As its Christmas I thought I would share with you some funny stories that I hope will make you smile and bring you some festive cheer . Please feel free to comment on your favourite cruising Christmas stories.

. What’s Hot, Where’s Hot – South Africa, Sri Lanka and Sydney, Australia are all over 30 degrees , Christmas in the Sun , is it for you , over 4 million of us seek sunshine at this festive time. Yes please , I would be more than happy to seek sunshine to get away from the crowds at Christmas.

CHRISTMAS CRUISES-  Are virtually sold out for this year and next year already seeing a surge of bookings to sample the delights of spending Christmas at Sea. Taking a cruise over the Christmas holiday might not be the traditional way to celebrate, but it can offer you a special time that will produce many memories. It is also a good way to escape the madness of the holiday season. You can sail the seas and enjoy some sun instead of rushing around with last minute shopping lists. Many cruise lines offer special deals and destinations over Christmas. Celebrate Christmas on a cruise by travelling with your closest family and friends, relaxing with a flexible itinerary and taking advantage of special holiday events on board and at your ports of call.  Cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Norwegian provide complimentary eggnog and serve turkey and ham on Christmas.    Many cruise lines will have Santa Claus show up, host holiday parties for adults and show seasonal movies for entertainment. Many Caribbean islands celebrate Christmas for weeks. There may be caroling, parades and fireworks to enjoy.

CHRISTMAS MARKETS- More and more popular each year . Many cruise lines now offer itineraries to sample the delights of such destinations such as Bruges, Copenhagen and Hamburg , or how about a River cruise to the Rhine Valley for 2014 . Simply stunning, I am sure you will agree, I have prices for 2014 Christmas Market cruises, call me for more information and prices! Have you been to see the Christmas Markets , feel free to add your pictures .

I visited a Christmas Market two weeks ago , mmm I think the Alpine tent got the better of me in this photo?

.

WHAT’s NOT- Traffic, shops, airports, yes you name it , the days leading up to Christmas are the most stressful times . Even at the end of a stressful day and you head to a cosy pub for a nice Christmas tipple you end up queuing ten deep at the bar . Supermarket shopping is probably the worst one, everyone fighting to get the last box of mince pies or the last batch of sprouts with overfilled trollies queuing down each isle with there owners sporting frustrated faces. Why is this the case when shops re open on Boxing Day. If you know the answer to that let me know. Advice is to Christmas shop in October when the sales are still on , deliver your presents and head abroad to escape.  Wouldn’t you rather me here this Christmas?

CHRISTMAS CRACKER JOKES – Yes they are nearly upon us so I thought I would share some of the worst ones with you, if you have any others let me know?

What does Santa suffer from when he gets stuck up a chimney- Claustrophobia

Why did Santa’s helper see the doctor?- Because he had low ‘Elf’ esteem

What Kind of motorbike does Santa ride – A Holly Davidson ( couldnt resist)

WHAT’S NEW -2014 brings to us not only a whole New Year but some exciting times in the industry.

BRITTANIA, yes P&O’s new ship goes on sale in February , WOW and what a ship she will be, but before she goes on sale to customers, she has much more to share with us before then. In January P&O will announce the two Celebrity Chefs who will be on Board, any guesses?. I am excited to know as Marco Pierre White and Atul Kochhar have been a hit on Ventura and Azura

ANTHEM OF THE SEAS, Another anticipated launch again due to go on Sale in February for 2015 replacing the Independance, Anthem will remain in Southampton for the season , wow if anything like Quantam I cant wait to see what this superliner has in store for us.

With two amazing liners going head to head for customers for 2015 which ship has your backing . The race is nearly on!!

And finally…. A huge thankyou for your support and your custom for my first year at Cruise.Co.Uk and also for celebrating my 25th Anniversary in this industry. I have had the most amazing year with visits on the Brilliance of the Seas, The Royal Princess and The Carnival Sunshine. I can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store and welcoming customers old (not necessarily literally) and new. Happy Christmas !
