SPEEDOS AND BIKINIS BANNED

Although I am sure the majority of my male customers do not wear speedos, but if you do and to all the ladies who wear bikinis then you need to be aware that if one of your cruise ports in Palma or you have a stay in Majorca then you need to be aware of the new law being enforced .

‘The Good Citizen plan’ as it is being named by authorities , aimed at locals and tourists has taken two years to put together and is very near to be finalised. The locals are backing the plan and of course I think we can all appreciate why.

I do like to sit on the promenade and have a G&T after my day at the beach, dressed appropriately of course, but the image of a Speedo wearer crossing my path can sometimes prove rather unsightly although amusing. This isn’t Baywatch and I guess never will be.

Fines of up to £500 could be handed out for anyone seen coming off the beaches in swimwear down to bicycles being ridden on pavements. I guess this should come as no surprise becaue it isnt just Majorca that enforce rules needed to be adhered to by tourists. Many other countries have all kinds of weird and wacky regulations. For Example

Rome –  Eating and Drinking near landmarks is illegal , particular in areas of  historic, artistic, architectonic and cultural value. Your ice cream could prove very expensive if eaten near the Spanish Steps.

Dubai – Sharing a hotel room outside of marriage, I guess there would be no fighting for who uses the bathroom first for this ruling.

Greece – Stiletto Heels, now for all us ladies out there who like to walk around in high heels the good news this is fine as long as your not standing on any historical site because apparently this could cause the weight of the heel to damage monuments. mmm Are they calling this a weight issue of the person wearing them.

Some of these laws are completely wacky but we all have to abide by them, I would be interested to know what laws wierd or wonderful you have experienced on your travels. I can imagine their are so many more to share. Please feel free to comment.
