Ship or Destination… Which would you choose?

Having recently returned from an all singing dancing ship with 3 ports of call in a 7 night itinerary we made the decision that in future cruises we would compromise on the ships facilities for a cruise which is more destination led.

Do you feel the same?

It was my 22 and 19 year old who said although they enjoyed the facilities a ship like Symphony of the Seas offered they would much rather compromise on a bigger ship and have more ports of call. It was a 7 night cruise out of Miami featuring St Maarten , San Juan and Labadee ( our favourite place of all) with 3 days at sea.

When i booked this holiday in MAy 2017 I chose this ship because as having sailed on Oasis Class many many times before i presumed the kids  would love the slides etc and robotic bar . It just goes to show you that even at the young age of 22 and 19 it made them realise they want to see the world and visit as many places as they can and will compromise the facilities on board to be able to do this. I agree with them totally. So this year I have decided to take my children and their partners on a Greek Islands Cruise on the opposite end of the scale size wise on  Jewel of the Seas. 5 ports of call in a 7 night itinerary. Not much to do on board but a lovely little ship and as a family of 5 travelling we will have a fabulous time together.

Two islands I have always wanted to visit which are Mykonos and Santorini and the Jewel includes these islands.

I guess we change as we are growing up and start to see what is most important to all of us.

Let me know what you prefer?

Cheers Holly
