HOLLY AND HANNAHS ADVENTURES CONTINUE….

I am about to embark on Fred Olsen Balmoral this week with my colleague Hannah for a 5 night taster cruise from Newcastle to the Fjords. I have to say this is my 3rd time on Fred Olsen and 2nd time on Balmoral.

I think many have a perception that Fred Olsen cater more for retired guests but I guess you can say this about many cruiselines depending on their itineraries. For me personally I think Fred Olsen are great. The service and food onboard is superb. The staff will go out of their way to make you feel that their is only you onboard. What more can you ask for . Nightlife as you would expect will be low key but to be honest after an extremely busy few months to sit in the lounge after dinner with a Gin and Tonic listening to a live band or maybe having a little dance to a DJ or even taking part in Quiz night this is all we are looking for and sounds absolutely perfect.

We have treated ourselves to a Superior Suite on deck 9, pictures to follow when I come home.

I spent most of my upbringing in the Lake District so I totally appreciate the most stunning of lakes and mountains and the Fjords is like no other when it comes to Spectacular scenery.

We will be sailing to Bergen and Eidfjord where we have booked a Rib on the lake now that will be fab as I love any type of sport on the water. Probably wont be posting pictures of me looking like a drowned rat on this one. Below is my itinerary………….

What I also like about Fred Olsen are the little touches, like the brochure you receive on booking filled with your itinerary, excursions, spa packages , drinks prices. Such a useful guide to have and such a shame all cruiselines do not follow suit. P&O and Cunard do something very similar.

So I will say Bon Voyage and a full update on my return. Until then…
