Cracking Day on Cunard Part 2

So as you will remember from my at update I was lucky enough to get to spend the day on the fabulous Queen Victoria. I mentioned that you just sense and feel quality as soon as you enter the grand lobby and that continues and you walk around the rest of the ship. You have reminders that the Queen is class and royalty when walking around with paintings of the likes of The Dutches of Cornwall below –

As you continue to walk around the feeling of elegance remains and everything has a style, look and feel of quality. Everywhere you look you can’t fail but to be impressed. There is tradition by the bucket load with the likes of Churchill’s cigar lounge and a stunning Theatre which is not the biggest that you will see but it is simply out of this world and oozes class. It is a great example of how the best theatres used to be rather than how many can we cram in.

Everywhere on Queen Victoria is stunning

What a stunning place to be entertained

Another thing that makes the Queen Victoria and her sister so special is the Ballroom which very few ships have and is a massive draw for all those who like to dance. It is also really good and popular for singles as they have a number of dance hosts so they do not have to sit and watch from the sidelines.

Shall we Dance?

Another place that is really popular onboard is the good old pub the Golden Lion. Here you have a great friendly atmosphere traditional good quality pub grub, quizzes, and live entertainment. Just my kind of place.

The Golden Lion

You have lots of lovely lounges bars and restaurants and again all have the feel of quality but some do have more of a dress code than others so that is something you may need to bear in mind as after all this is Cunard and you do have separate areas for the Club Balcony and the guests in the Grills suites.

The only disappointment I had was that as the cruise was completely full which was great for Cunard and shows how popular even a British Ilse cruise can be that we never got to see any cabins as they were all in use.

The Tour was topped off with a lovely lunch in the Britannia Restaurant and even though it’s 2 weeks that I was onboard I’m still drooling from the quality of the food. Here is what I had for my 3 courses which was a lot nice than the quick sandwich that I try I grab at home in between talking to people about lots of cruises.

Crab Salad Anyone?

Melt in the mouth Fillet of Beef!

The best Bread and Butter Pudding ever!

As you can see from the above even the food had quality all over it and I came back from my day thinking that I cant recommend Cunard highly enough. I have lots of regular Cunard customers who book 2,3 or sometimes 4 cruises a year on them and now I can totally see why. For those who have never sailed with them if you get the chance give them a try as they do offer a different experience to most of ultra modern cruise lines. As they say, style is temporary but class is permanent.
