River Cruising – why you should choose Viking!

River cruising is still uncharted territory for many seasoned cruisers but for me it is the best type of cruising. I have done five river cruises now and fell in love with river cruising the first time I tried it.

One of the best river cruising experiences I had was a couple of years ago with Viking, on the Danube. You will probably have seen their adverts on the TV but have you ever wondered what cruising with Viking is really like? What is it that makes them so special? Hopefully I can give you a better idea of what they are all about and what makes them market leaders and why people who cruise with them return again and again.

When you book your Viking river cruise, you can look forward, with great confidence, to an experience of the highest standard. Everything you experience will be of the highest quality, Viking’s attention to detail is second to none, and so much is included in the price, making Viking river cruises excellent value for money.

So what exactly is included?

You can choose to fly from London or up to 14 regional airports across the UK. To ensure that your holiday gets off to a good start Viking only use scheduled flights with quality airlines. On arrival at your destination you will be met bu a Viking representative who will accompany you to your ship or hotel, and they will see you back to the airport at the end of your trip.

Once on board you will enjoy being looked after very well indeed by your Cruise Director. They will keep you up to date with everything you need to know on a daily basis along with accompanying you on your complimentary excursions each day. Complimentary tea, coffee and snacks are available all day long if you get a bit peckish between meals, and beer, wine and soft drinks are on the house during lunch and dinner too. Fresh bottled water will be delivered to your cabin daily and will also be provided during excursions. Cookery classes, talks and demonstrations are available if you want to learn more about the cuisine served on board, and there is an evening entertainment programme for those who aren’t ready for their beds after dinner each evening.

For those of you who like to stay connected, wi-fi is complimentary and you can also use the laptops provided on board.

Viking own many of the docking stations along the rivers so you will be moored in the best possible place for getting off the ship and exploring in each destination you visit.

Any guests who book an Explorer Suite on a European river cruise will enjoy a free upgrade to Business Class flights, subject to availability.

So you see, there is so much included in the price of your Viking River Cruise, why wouldn’t you book with them?
