By ‘Eck it’s September already, and P&O isn’t the only thing ‘launching’!

So having all sweltered for what seems like forever over what has to be one of best Summers ever, those days seem like a distant memory already don’t they? Whilst we are still having some beautiful days here in Worcestershire there is a distinct nip in the air in the mornings and evenings, and aren’t the evenings drawing in quickly now! I haven’t succumbed to the central heating yet but the log burner has been fired up a few times I can tell you.

I fired it up Saturday night as it had been a miserable day, to make the lounge all cosy, donned my PJ’s early and settled down on the sofa for the launch of Strictly Come Dancing 2018, a highlight of my TV calendar each year! I just love everything about this series, the glitter and sparkle, the gorgeous costumes, the music, the contestants, even Craig’s acid tongue! I loved the launch on Saturday and cannot wait for it to start for real next Saturday. Having been introduced to the celebrities now, I think this year is going to be a vintage, how about you? Will you be watching?

Talking of launch, and almost as important as Strictly, well in my eyes, P&O’s brand new ship, Iona, went on sale this week at the start of their 2020 programme launch. Just fyi, she will be offering 7 night Fjords cruises during Summer 2020. The higher Peninsular tier members were able to book on Monday and then she went on general sale yesterday at 8am. I recently posted questioning how P&O were going to fill such a big ship, week in, week out, throughout the Summer of 2020, well, if you are considering the Maiden Voyage on Iona, you have quite literally missed the boat! Apart from a handful of inside cabins, the entire voyage was sold out by about 8.15am yesterday morning, can you believe. The last time I recall a launch selling on such a scale was the final voyage of the QE2 which sold out entirely in less than half an hour. I have never know a P&O Maiden Voyage to be so popular, it was just amazing. Fortunately, my colleagues and I were able to secure cabins for all of our pre-registered clients so everyone was happy. Other voyages during her Maiden season are proving popular too and filling quickly.

All other P&O 2020 itineraries will be on sale from next week so please get in touch if you would like to know which ships are where and when, I have itineraries etc which I will be happy to share with you.

For now folks, enjoy the cosy Autumn evenings, enjoy Strictly too. I am rooting for Charles Venn, I am a big fan of him on Casualty, and here’s the thing, Venn was my maiden name too!

For all things cruising please call me on 0330 303 8184 and I will be happy to help you!
