P&O Cruises to end Gratuities

The exciting news leaking from P&O is that, from May 2019, they are going to end the discretionary daily Service Charge.

Until that date, a discretionary daily Service Charge amount of £7 will continue to be added for guests aged 12 and over.

What do you think of that news, do you agree with automatic gratuities or do you always have them removed when you get on the ship?

It will be interesting to see if this makes any difference to either the prices or the service you receive.

The official statement from P&O reads “For holidays departing from May 2019 the discretionary daily Service Charge on board will be removed, which means you can relax knowing it’s all taken care of. ”

The other recent news from the P&O camp is that their new addition, P&O Iona, will begin her inaugural season sailing to the beautiful Norwegian fjords. With departures throughout the spring and summer of 2020, you will have even more opportunities to explore one of the world’s most iconic destinations.
