Another ROYAL addition

The big news this week is another ROYAL addition. No, I am not talking about Harry & Meghan’s baby but the news that construction has started on another Oasis-class ship.

This will be the 5th Oasis-class ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet, joining Harmony, Allure, Oasis and Symphony of the Seas.

The first piece of steel was cut at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard which is located in Saint-Nazaire, France, marking a major construction milestone for the future vessel. It is planned to be launched in 2021.

Royal Caribbean are rightly proud of their Oasis-class ships, stating “Each day and night brings something new to do, see and explore. From the robot mixologists at Bionic Bar to the FlowRider surf simulators, and the tallest slide at sea, Ultimate Abyss, to hit Broadway musicals like Grease. And with the award-winning Adventure Ocean youth program, kids and teens will have a blast— plus parents can get a little time of their own. The hardest part is deciding where to start.”

This class of ships are split into seven neighbourhoods. These distinctly different neighbourhoods are Central Park, The Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea, Boardwalk, Royal Promenade, Youth Zone, and Entertainment Place – each offering different guest experiences.

Royal Caribbean boasts that you can “Fill every day and night with game-changing thrills that rival anything on land. You’ll find 16 decks of bragworthy things to do, like the FlowRider® surf simulator and the tallest slide at sea — Ultimate Abyss. Take a spin around the ice skating rink. Or enjoy a smooth ride and skylight views with your cocktail on the Rising Tide Bar.”

Have you ever sailed on one of these ships?

What did you think?

Do you prefer the bigger ships, or like me do you think smaller is better?
