What Are You Without Your Family And Friends?

What are you without your family and friends?

I am lucky enough to be sitting here at my laptop in sunny Cyprus, looking out at a clear blue sky and feeling the warmth of the sun.

This great job allows us to work wherever we have an internet connection,  so it’s ideal to work away from home. My Husband and I have been in Cyprus for a few weeks now and my Mum, Daughters and their Boyfriends came out a couple of weeks ago for a holiday, which has been great fun fur us all – pretty hectic though.

We decided that whilst they were here we would go and visit the northern part of Cyprus and perhaps stay for a couple of days, we have been there before but never for any length of time. There are so many hotels to choose from – small pension style hotels, boutique hotels up to 5 star luxury resort hotels. As there was a mixture of ages going,  some friends who had their 1 year old Grand Daughter with them decided to come with us, we opted for a hotel that had a wide range of facilities – this was the Acapulco Beach, located about 8 kilometres from Kyrenia. We booked full board plus which covered all our meals and drinks at lunch and dinner. The hotel had a brilliant and very reasonably priced spa, an adults only area that had a wonderful infinity pool and best of all for my family ( yes they are all late twenties, early thirties ) a great water park! We had a brilliant couple of days there with some well needed r and r.

So, this morning I have a tear in my eye as I have just had to wave them off in a taxi as they head back to the airport for their flight home to the UK. These times with friends and family are so important, I don’t think we take our time to appreciate just how lucky we are to have this, and yes we all have our niggles and quarrels but that’s part of being a family. I may just be being a bit too sentimental but make sure you take time to appreciate what you have.
