Spa Treatments At Sea – Do You Indulge?

Spa treatments at sea – do you indulge?

Is there a better way to while away a couple of hours whilst at sea than lying face down, inhaling wonderful aromas whilst an expert kneads and massages the tension from your muscles – I think not!

Who doesn’t love to be preened and pampered so that they look glowing for a formal night – but all this does come at a cost.

I think the treatments offered are fantastic, there is so much choice, forget about a simple back massage when you can choose from hot stone massages, lemon & ginger body scrubs, reflexology massages – the list goes on, but it doesn’t stop there – your pearly whites not so white? – then take advantage of the teeth whitening proceedure, looking a bit tired? – then why not get some dermal fillers or Botox? It’s amazing what they have on offer.

If you have never ventured into one of the spa’s you could be missing out. In my experience they are really friendly and welcoming ( that maybe because they are after my money ) but who cares?

Unfortunately, all this does come at a price and sometimes it seems a very high price compared to what you find at home. However, there are usually packages on offer, I have seen deals offering up to 30% discount if you book three treatments, special prices for couples and on port days, when the salons are a bit quieter,  reduced prices on different treatments. It;s definitely worth asking about the special offers.

If treatments aren’t your thing then most spa’s have lots of other facilities – juice bars, hydrotherapy pools, saunas and steam rooms – and as these areas are usually adult only they can be a bit of a sanctuary for everyone – including stressed out Mum’s or Dad’s.

So if you have always walked past the spa thinking it’s not for you, next time DONT! Walk in and speak to the staff, ask for a little tour – you don’t know what you might be missing.
