It’s the Final Countdown..

Hello,

For those of you who have spoken to me at all over the past month will know the excitement has been building for my own forthcoming holiday – and we are now in to the final countdown as we depart 2 weeks today….

I am lucky enough to be going to Canada & Alaska and my itinerary is as follows:-

Friday 03 May Fly London – Calgary

We are spending 5 nights in an Apartment in a resort called Canmore – which is about 30 minutes drive from Banff.  Whilst here we are hoping to take a trip to the Columbia Icefields Discovery Centre where it is possible to take a ride in an all terrain vehicle on to the Glacier and actually to walk on it… We are also planning a day trip to Lake Louise and also to Banff – this may well be on the Tuesday as I have found a great Sports bar to leave my Husband in to watch Liverpool in the 2nd leg of the Champions League Semi-Final, as he is an avid Liverpool supporter and they are having a great season my holiday timing is not good – however this trip is very special as we are travelling with my Mum to celebrate her 70th Birthday so the timing could not be avoided.

After leaving the Rockies, we are actually taking a couple of days to drive to Vancouver where we will spend 24 hours prior to embarking our Cruise…

We are sailing on the Celebrity Millennium Vancouver – Seward and I am very excited for this since my first cruise 2 years ago with Celebrity they have become my new favourite cruise line and I am looking forward to sharing this experience with my family.

We have got 2 excursions booked through Celebrity one for the Mendenhall Glacier & also a tour in Skagway.  Also we have taken advantage of a fantastic 1st night speciality Dinner offer for QSine which as you may have read previously is a truly unique dining experience.

Following our disembarkation in Seward – I have independently booked a full day tour to finish at Anchorage Airport before our journey home which is actually as 2 overnight flights and giving us a day to explore Chicago – I hope it isn’t too windy..

So as the next 2 blogs will be whilst I am travelling – by the joys of modern technology I will still have things to talk about… I will fill you all in next month on my great Alaskan adventure, but do please continue to follow my facebook page and I will try to add some photos along the way.
