I would definitely return for an Encore…

Back in the office from my recent pre-inaugural cruise on the new Norwegian Encore from NCL Cruises and what more can I say but WOW…

From the moment we stepped on board to be greeted by staff lining the atrium cheering us in we knew we were in for a great time.  Sadly the weather in Germany/North Sea in November is not the best but you can just imagine how much more amazing this cruise will be whilst sailing it’s maiden season in the Caribbean.

There was a very impressive Speedway race track on the top deck and a fun outdoor laser tag area and some great looking water slides.  However, I surprisingly for me, spent quite some time in the 1,000 square foot area of the Galaxy Pavilion.  This was a Virtual Reality showcase having several different “rides” including a Hang-glider, Racing car & Roller coaster this was great fun and would be fantastic for older children travelling on this ship – and just the big kids amongst us !!.

The Encore also had an impressive array of dining options – several of which were included but also several speciality options to choose from and I was lucky enough to be invited to sample Le Bistro – a fantastic french restaurant where I had the most delicious steak which just melted, finished off with a fantastic Apple Tart Tartin.

The entertainment was also great and we were lucky enough to see both shows – The Choir of Man & Kinky Boots.  Both truly amazing shows if you ever get the chance to see either on a ship or ashore then do…

Encore has many large touch screens throughout the ship that enables guests to book for the shows, speedway, laser tag and speciality dining options.

The entertainment and dining options are set out over decks 6, 7 & 8 making up 678 Ocean Place.  With the speciality options of these being on deck 8 and having outdoor seating areas too opening out on to the walk way of the Waterfront – this was my favourite area of the ship and in warmer weather will be a great attraction.

Overall I was hugely impressed with Encore as a ship and this would have a big appeal to the younger cruise passenger and also to families.
