Everything is washed [ dry clean only stuff hung up in the utility for a few days to 'air'] before going back in our wardrobes, worn or not. My machine can 'hand wash' many dry clean only silks. When I used to work in a high end 'boutique' as a Saturday girl. I picked up many tips [including a love of clothes] and one was 'never put clothes away which have been worn before washing. It keeps wardrobes and drawers totally fresh [ and with all the talk of the increase of bed bugs, can only help to kill any bugs!].

      Hi CG
I will report back in september to let you know if i managed to condense 12 days (and nights) outfits into one fairly small suitcase. Shoes are the hardest as they weigh more and toiletries which now have to go in checked baggage weigh a ton. I know I could just buy stuff when I get there but I like being prepared. Should have been a boy scout but wrong sex. Oh well four and half weeks to get it right. x

If you are away for 16 weeks I should just take it all. I have read at CC of someone who did 35 days with just carry on; that's impressive imho.
Sorry that I am no help to you. You know what the essentials are. We can do it. My motto for today is "Who Dares Wins" but i am so well qualified in prevarication that the motto may not work.

Apparently, this year we have a butler who will unpack and pack again at the end of the cruise. Yes ladies, I have bought new knickers! With a luggage allowance of 23kg there won't be a lot to unpack!

Some years ago, we were having a really good last evening of the holiday, cases needed to be outside the door by 2 am and at 1.15 we were still in evening wear in the bar. After a moment's thought we realised that the clocks had changed and we had another hour, so we had another drink!

That sounds delightful. I want a butler and a maid and a housekeeper at home too. I will treat them so well. Always felt that I was swopped at birth but I did adore my parents.

I am off tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and so excited. I have packed, just about to remove half of it all now.

There are equally as important things to pack, and check, before your cruise.

We have an excellent regular taxi driver who insists on us showing him our passports and tickets before we set off.
