As for being a willy businessman,,,that’s another self made myth,,,,,I read an article last week,I think from Forbes,,his personal wealth is less now than whatever he inherited from his father years ago,,,for someone who starts life as a Multi millionaire that’s pretty impossible unless you are an incompetent.
He is rich due to that inheritance not because of his business acumen.
His golf courses are losing money hand over fist,,,Trump Tower only makes money because he fills it with people ,with the government paying the bills.
His casino went belly up years ago,,,his university was shut down after he was found guilty of ripping students off.
Wait until he gets the huge tax bill.
He has been lying and cheating his way through is whole life.

He wouldn’t get to be President off my WMC

      JC
      Filed six times for bankruptcy?!!

It is claimed the Trumps inflate the value of projects, lie to investors and then cash out before things go belly up.

What a person to run a country.

        Hi all
        C&P,,original off into the ether.....

        Hi all
Just to put meat on the bones of the above,,Post #8,,George Monbiot wrote a telling article in today’s Guardian.
Just to give a flavour, this is the opening paragraph.

“To accumulate power, a government with authoritarian tendencies must first destroy power. It must reduce rival centres of power – the judiciary, the civil service, academia, broadcasters, local government, civil society – to satellites of its own authority, controlled from the centre, deprived of independent action. But it must do this while claiming to act in the people’s name.“

        Here is the full article,,,
        https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...6asAztFIX-un34

So next time you read an article from the IEA,,the Adam Smith Institute or Policy Exchange they are not the comfy charities they want you to believe,,but they are the extreme rightwing of the Tory party who want to take away your hard won freedoms and institutions our mothers and fathers fought for.not unlike DT’s America.

Brits - sensible UK citizens or Scots nationalists - can spout their personal views of course but it is surely for the people of the USA to elect THEIR political leaders completely free of views from people from other nation states. Best those who scorn Trump or Biden (or any other prospective political leader of the USA) recognise that the USA is the UK’s (with or without Scotland in the Union) most important ally!

I just read something on CNN which says that over 200,000 voters in the state of Georgia have been taken off the electoral rolls last year because they “moved”. Apparently these people didn’t move, but may not have voted in recent general elections. Blatant disenfranchisement by the state! It is just one thing after another with this shyster. Honestly, DT is the original film-flam man, watch him shuffle those cards around making you dizzy.

Have people seen seen the photo of Trump in Kenosha with “the owner” of a shop that was destroyed in the looting ( not that I am condoning ANY destruction of property)? The current owners of the shop refused to be part of a political photo opportunity with Trump and instead the man who sold the business many years ago came forward to have his picture taken.

My question is this - how much of the anarchy and destruction is actually being facilitated by Trump and his cronies in an effort to destabilise the United States so he can keep his butt in the Oval Office? Possibility or not? I just don’t know what to think.

Take care and stay well. Helen

I'm sure the implication that Scot. Nat's are not sensible will be noted.

Good of you to be the first to introduce Scottish Independence to this thread.

True that the U S citizens make the decision. So none of our business in the same way presumably that Mr Trump stayed neutral in UK politics?

I think you mean ‘inference’ rather than “implication” but, then, some person or other might wish to proclaim that the ‘English’ language does not extend to Scotland.

And look at the reaction, perfectly legitimate reaction, across the UK - especially by our political leaders - when there was reason to believe that Trump and his Russian counterparts had not “remained neutral” in UK elections!

Now he has told people in North Carolina to vote twice...
The president says voters should test the system - despite it being illegal to vote more than once.

I know! I saw this on CNN last night. The man will do anything to cheat his way back into office. It makes you wonder what he is like when he plays golf!

Big difference between general public expressing opinion (not seeking to influence anyone as far as I can see)and heads of states interfering and seeking to use their power to influence.

                              Hi Helen.
A guy who wrote a book about his golf cheating can tell you,,,I like the bit where he says Trump picks the ball up off the green claiming a ‘gimme’ of a chip.

Reilly, the former Sports Illustrated columnist, has written a book called Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump. It’s rattling good fun which also depicts the startling duplicity of the president as a golfer. “You’re mostly laughing,” Reilly says, “but at times you’re crying – how did this happen? As a golfer he really offends me. Cheating? Hate that. Driving carts on greens? Hate that. Wearing old dockers two sizes too small for him? Give me a break. Kicking your ball so often the caddies call you Pelé? I so hate that. Most of all I hate how stupid he’s making my country look. I hate what he’s doing to my planet. I hate what he’s doing to kids at the border. I don’t mind Republicans. I just can’t stand this guy. I love golf and he has set the game back 30 years. Just when it was becoming cool with Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler we get this fat bozo cheating his ass off.”

I’m ashamed to say that there are some of his supporters in the wider family. Thankfully I don’t have to disown any of my siblings 😉 although I was cross with them 4 years ago for not making sure DT didn’t get in. Too many people disliked Hilary so much they couldn’t vote for her so they didn’t vote full stop and we have paid the price ever since.

We were on a cruise when DT was elected & were chatting to some US citizens. I asked had they used their postal vote. No was the answer they didn't like either candidate so didn't bother to vote. Crumbs I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

I didn't like either candidates we had at our last election but I was going to vote, people died to get me that vote so I was blinking well going to use it.
