I ass-u-me the switch in courier was probably a cost saving exercise.

More evidence, if required, that cheapest is not always the best option.

PS DHL are blaming it on an IT issue. I always thought the Germans were good at logistics
A blip the damage will be minimal and forgotten once stock supplies return.

if you want to see what proper damage is look what happened to meat supplier Russell Hume after they lost the Wetherspoon contract.

QSL(the logistics company) got the UK contract(they already worked with KFC in Europe)

      https://www.logisticsmanager.com/kfc...-uk-logistics/

They set up a UK office in Sept/Oct and started recruiting

Apparently some dopes have been calling the police over the KFC 'chicken crisis' and the Manchester and London forces have called on them to stop.

Should take all their details and then send them a bill for the time. Absolutely ridiculous that people think it is appropriate to call the police over such a matter

I think some police tweets were issued yesterday. #KFCCCrisis.

The equivalent of a parking ticket would be good.

I would just like to add that it has had no effect on me.

I have never been into a KFC let alone bought anything from one. ....Neil

Really? Holy guacamole, there really is no accounting for taste! I remember reading an article in a Sunday supplement years ago about how Western traditions get lost in translation in the Far East. The author had once been in Japan at Christmas and had seen a life sized Santa on a crucifix above the department store signage. Bizarre but true!

                Take care, Helen

Thats good to hear, I do like a chicken sandwich now and then. Probably the only thing I ever eat at a service station.

It begs belief that they made a big bang switch like this without sufficient dry-run cutover...

What I do find abhorrent in the whole situation is that many workers are not getting paid or are being asked to take holiday in the franchise outlets. Surely they should be making payment and seeking redress from DHL.
My thoughts exactly but KFC will claim £ millions from DHL, including workers wages which they will not have paid, even more profit while kicking the workers, especially if they are on zero hours contracts.

Morally I can't see what the problem with contracts is, even if some staff are on 0 hours contracts they are being denied the right to work and earn money to pay bills etc. KFC should still pay them and claim their wages from DHL as you can be sure they'll claim everything they can. Why should staff have to take holidays when it's down to sheer incompetence by either DHL, KFC or both.
