Was over at Berko today to visit Oxfam books, who it turns out, don't open on Mondays!! The High Street was it's usual crawl of through traffic.

Hubby and I went to our local family owned restaurant for lunch. We had BBQ chicken wings each, but I think the chicken must have been on steroids!, I had pork Souvlaki with chips and Greek salad, hubby had king prawn spaghetti, I had a limoncello sorbet, several soft drinks and coffee all for just over £18.

BTW I’m back there tomorrow with my friend who’s being shielding but is due back to work in Wednesday. Now what will I have................................🤷🏻*♀️🙈😂
don't want to work, just want to cruise.

            Hi all
Went to a local pub for our tea, took the daughter, hubby and granddaughter and wife.
Its an old local pub but turned into a eatery pub during lockdown,,,,it was packed.

The cost with the subsidy was just over £30,,,we paid for alcoholic drinks separately.

            The food bill.

Why do these Pub Co’s take over a local pub, change everything, serve tasteless food, charge the earth for drinks and think it’s something special,,,when this offer is over it will die through lack of character.
And don’t get me started on kids in pubs.

Bring back The Albion a good local boozer.

Why were they including VAT at 20% should have asked for £7.50 off that bill.

                  Hi TD
I think we had this debated weeks ago,,is it not up to the business to pass on on the temp Vat cut to the customer or not.
Some are keeping it to themselves to bolster their losses due to the months of the pandemic.

                  As Moneysavingexpert says.....
‘But firms AREN'T obliged to pass on the VAT cut to customers by dropping their prices. The Treasury says that while it looks to businesses to pass on the benefit of the VAT drop to their customers if they can, it is for individual companies to decide their own prices – and many affected firms will have missed out on recent income due to being closed during lockdown.‘

They can keep the money, the vat invoice should have 5% on it not 20% and the good priced higher.

Cheapish place £1 a head, more expensive £2 up a bit if they were very good.
