    Flipping ‘eck!

Ok lovely cruisers, how do you take your pancakes as it is Shrove Tuesday? If I am having nice, fluffy American style pancakes it has to be with lashings of Maple Syrup and butter, but for crepes I can go for all sorts of toppings. My daughter has requested that I bring the Nutella to her house when we go over for dinner in a bit. We also enjoy lemon juice with a sprinkle of sugar or even a nice jam on its own.

    Take care, Helen

Usually Scottish pancakes, hot with butter but went out with friends today to a pancake restaurant for lunch so had buttermilk pancakes, banana, coconut ice cream with hot fudge sauce.
don't want to work, just want to cruise.

Savoury mince tonight! Lean mince, green and red peppers, onions, tomato puree, loads of garlic. Followed by one (or two) with maple syrup, not American ones though, just some left over batter from the savoury batch.
I used to adore the ones you could get from the Little Chef years and years ago with cherries and ice cream

My daughter suggested that we do pancakes today, then told me that she won't be home until after 7pm. That was too late for my liking, so we are doing pancakes on Friday instead. I think that wine may also be involved!

I like them with lemon and sugar but I also loved my Nanas scotch pancakes with butter or syrup.

I've enjoyed my pancakes with lemon juice and sprinkled with sugar (IMO the best) but it means, of course, that it's Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras)

Venice unfortunately had to cut theirs back but the UK's top Mardi Gras event has been happening since Thursday and culminates tonight in Hastings Old Town.

I have had fluffy ones because I only had self raising flour. I have only ever used plain but they turned out well, just a bit more fluffy than usual. We had them with a squeeze of fresh lemon and golden syrup.

Well the 6 Lorraine cooked for me tonight were all with lemon juice and sugar. Not those small shop purchased ones, but lovely thin full frying pan size,

Mrs M I also loved those Little Chef pancakes especially those with warm cherry filling. Our ex daughter in law used to be the manager of a little chef and on busy bank holidays, my family would sometimes all muck in and go and help her out, always cooked myself an Olympic breakfast and the occasional pancake.

Our pancakes were also made with gluten free flour as my daughter has a gluten intolerance. I also do the American style pancakes with the gf flour and they taste just as good as with normal flour.

                              Take care, Helen
