We have a dear friend living in Las Vegas. We have been away and had to wait until today to learn that she is safe. I feel for all those involved.

The NRA are actually making noises about wanting new laws about the device that Paddock used to bump up the gunfire rate of his rifles. It is a step in the right direction, not big enough a step, but a step nonetheless. Why anyone would NEED a rifle capable of firing off so many rounds a minute is beyond me though. The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms must have their hands full trying to deal with the number of illegal weapons on the street in addition to what is legally owned by some apparently unhinged people.

        Take care, Helen

Why worry about Kim Jong-Un having nukes.

Nukes don't kill people, people kill people

          .........see how stupid that sounds.

Since the attack(4 days) more people(80+) have died from guns in America than died during the attack.

In one of the TV interviews a Las Vegas Gun Shop Owner was asked why do the public need to able to buy assault rifles/machine guns, his answer was the government have them therefore we need to have them to defend ourselves against them (The Govt), just wait till the shops start selling Tanks, Armoured Personal Carriers and ultimately your own personal nuclear weapon to allow the general populace to defend themselves against the govt.
As much as love to visit the USA I really do sometimes wonder about their way of thinking.

One of the sadder comments I heard from a newsreader in the wake of the massacre was that a toddler had found a gun in the bag of their childminder and who then proceeded to kill the other two children in this woman's care. It is so common in America now that it hardly makes the news anymore. Guns most certainly DO kill people because they are all together too easy to use.

The only way the American government will change the law regarding gun ownership is if someone somehow managed to smuggle a weapon or weapons into the House of Representatives or the Senate and then managed to shoot a whole bunch of legislators.

                Take care, Helen

One Senator was shot in the head? still nothing done.
They consider any restriction's an infringement of there right to own gun's.
As there are so many people with gun's they do need some sort of personal protection, but a gun that kills from 600yards away is an attack weapon not a defence weapon .
No doubt someone else will try to get into the record book's by killing innocent people....Taffy
