    R.N.l.I - SOS

As a supporter of the RNLI myself, and as it is the annual RNLI SOS fundraising day on 29th January 2010

I thought that some of you may like to offer your support by means of a donation or by purchasing items from their online shop at rnli.org.uk/sos or rnli.org.uk

With SOS day coming up soon, its not to late to join in their fundraising day and show your support to all of the brave volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards that risk their life on a daily basis to help those in distress, so many owe their lives too them, perhaps even some of you do.

Donate - By giving to SOS day you'll be helping to save lives at sea.

And the bonus is it makes you feel good to. ----------------------------------------------------

Type them in it worked for me. I have found that just clicking on the links on the forum often fails

        Sorry Cruise Fairy

I should have put the http:// in front of the rnli, Saying that RNLI looks more like MLI in lower case - could cause some confusion.

For those of you who shop on 'Amazon' if you go through the RNLI site, Amazon donate 5% of each purchase to them. Lizzie.

This is a great idea Barrowman and I do hope many will donate.

As we have a lifeboat station in this town I do also support the RNLI. It is an essential service and they do wonderful work saving lives around our island.

There will be door-to-door and street collections for the SOS day here and I will be contributing then, if that's ok.

              Thanks MarieC

I cannot remember how many times I have looked around lifeboats and they never cease to facinate me.

It takes a special type of person to continually put there lives on the line for others, with the only reward being the satisfaction of helping those in need.

              God bless them all.

It's also great for local lads and lasses who join up but can't yet go to sea, as they become involved in helping others at a young age.
The crews are also involved in inland rescues during flooding- they worked night and day in Cockermouth.

As someone who has lost family in the Fraserborough lifeboat disaster, I applaud Barrowmans efforts. Thanks for the reminder.
