I thought that to help keep the forum up to date with the latest on covid cruises we could put any news in just this one thread.

    Hi Garf

Is this a thinly disguised MSC bashing thread??

There are I think in excess of 80 ships which are coded yellow wrt covid. The threshold can be reached with a single crew member who has a positive test result.

      Hi Annie
Nope but from the description of events onboard once covid was discovered I find amazing.
Aida unloaded 3k pax in Lisbon over New Year as well once covid was discovered.

Oh and MSC Grandiosa unloaded 45 pax in Genoa out of a total of over 100 who tested +ve for covid.
Cruise companies not doing themselves any favours.

You mean the Vision of the Sea hospital ship to the Oasis ?

I have been reading a report that the Captain of the Oasis releases the Covid Stats for the day during early dining

Problem is this thread will drop off the front page quickly and because a lot of people don't read the forum properly using recent activity they won't see it.

I’ve been reading Celebrity threads and their ships have many many covid positive passengers. Celebrity seem to be keeping their covid positive passengers in the same area till the end of their cruise. The posters are saying that If they drove to the port then they just drive home but if they flew in then they have to go into quarantine all paid for by Celebrity.

They have brought back the wearing of masks as mandatory this week…….to little to late IMO. Loads of Americans are not happy bunnies about the mandatory mask wearing rule.
don't want to work, just want to cruise.

I see from cruisemapper that the QV is in St Lucia presumably acting as a supply ship to other Carnival ships. And QM is heading north east across the Atlantic after a rather Covid disrupted NYC + Caribbean first cruise.

Good idea Garf and a daily bump by any logged in members will see it stay relevant.

The covid protocols effective in Europe are much stricter than that of USA according to reports.

My large family received more negative PCR test results overnight. I am one of the few that has not been contacted by T&T

If I catch the Omicron variant now, would I notice?? I am triple vaxed and would receive a nice boost to my immune system with the bonus of protection against the delta variant according to the boffins.

Possibly the protocols need a revisit??

Not painting a very good picture for the industry is it? I wonder how long cruise lines can survive. Bad enough that they are sailing under capacity. All of this must surely be putting people off booking, or cancelling if they have already booked.
