It has a covenant on that says it can only be used as a social club to benefit the local community.
A few years ago a rumour spread that a builder had offered £1m for it and the land.
At the time we had 700 members,at renewal time we had another 1000 applications.
The owner was traced years ago to be a very old lady in Australia who was happy for things to continue.
If we went bust I think the club and land would revert to her or her relatives.
