    Warning..cruise thread

    Hi All
Just thought I'd post this photothat Angela who is a friend took of RCI's Majesty of the Seas entering Portsmouth International Port this morning.
Not sure why she's here unless it's just for supplies and fuel but she now has the honour of being the largest cruise ship to have visited us at 73000 tonnes.
Maybe RCI have decided along with Hurtigruten that Portsmouth could be used for an embarkation port instead of Southampton.

    She leaves at 8.00pm tonight.

    Regards
    Garf

          Hi Malcolm
Not my image, I had to ask to use it on this forum so can ask my mate if it's ok.

Must be more interesting for the bridge team to visit a new port instead of the “same old, same old” every 4 or 7 days.

As an update to the original post Majesty left at 8.00PM last night as per her schedule and is now circling one of the Marella ships that is moored in the Solent.

A well tiimed picture taken by my friend Stefeni which shows the Spinnaker Tower as well.

She’s sailed from the Caribbean to repatriate British and European Royal and Celebrity crew, according to a post on Royal and Celebrity’s Instagram last month.

That was the first ship we sailed on in 1995 or '96 but from Miami. Thanks for showing it.

Got to say, no wonder the camera industry is in decline with images like that from a mobile 'phone.

The advertising I see on TV for mobile 'phones feature it as a camera - no mention that they are 'phones or anything else.

                              Hi Jenkin/ LMM
Any photo is a welcome bonus at the moment and as LMM says as it was taken using a phone then that's pretty good as they've not got the best zoom.

Anybody who manages to squeeze a decent optical rather than digital zoom into a camera phone will br on a winner.

Keep on taking and posting your photos.

                              Garf.
